Although their recent performance leaves much to be desired, we believe that both Antipodean economies are on the cusp of a cyclical upswing. But while the RBNZ has ample room to support the recovery without stoking inflation risks, the same cannot be said of the RBA. Accordingly, we’re forecasting a much shallower loosening cycle in Australia than in New Zealand.
