Our Emerging Europe Chart Pack has been updated with the latest data and our analysis of recent developments.

Economies in Eastern Europe picked up a bit of momentum at the end of 2024, but we don’t think this marks the start of a sustained improvement. Timely indicators of activity have weakened in early 2025, and lacklustre external demand will remain a headwind to growth over the coming quarters. Even so, leading indicators suggest that upside risks to inflation are building, and we think that interest rates in most countries won’t be cut as far this year as most analysts currently anticipate.
