Our Emerging Europe Chart Pack has been updated with the latest data and our analysis of recent developments.
The latest data out of Emerging Europe suggest that economic growth in Central Europe strengthened further in Q2, while Russia’s economy continued to overheat. In Turkey there are signs that demand may be beginning to moderate in response to policy tightening, although we expect the rebalancing process there will take time. Across the region, inflation will rise (or remain elevated) over the second half of this year. Our interest rate forecasts generally lie towards the hawkish end of expectations.
