Our View: India’s economy is showing signs of coming off the boil and, with inflation lodged within the RBI’s target range, a resumption of the tightening cycle looks unlikely. However, the onset of a severe El Niño is a threat and presents a risk to our view that the central bank will begin loosening policy early in 2024.
