Africa Chart Pack (Nov. 2023)

Our Africa Chart Pack has been updated with the latest data and our analysis of recent developments.

Economic growth across Sub-Saharan Africa is likely to pick up in 2024, but a challenging external environment means that balance of payments positions will remain under strain and fiscal and monetary policy will need to stay tight. Our GDP growth forecasts are generally below the consensus. Public debt risks will continue to be a key concern across the region, with the threat of sovereign default highest in Ethiopia, Mozambique and Kenya.
