Having been too optimistic on the outlook for the emerging world over much of the past five years, the consensus has now shifted too far in the other direction. Economic and financial vulnerabilities cast a shadow over the outlook for a handful of EMs but a systemic crisis and widespread collapse in growth in the emerging world is not on the cards.
