If oil prices were to spike considerably higher as a result of the escalating conflict in the Middle East it would expose an age-old vulnerability in India's external position. But we think the risks to oil prices are arguably skewed to the downside. Next week, we expect the new-look MPC to keep rates on hold, but policy easing is creeping closer.
