India Weekly: JD Vance in India, Kashmir, flash PMIs, dovish RBI

US Vice President JD Vance was in India this week talking up progress on a potential trade deal as well as hailing the strength of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Meanwhile, India’s government has put tariffs on Chinese steel imports and also rebuffed plans for Chinese EV-maker BYD to invest in the country in recent weeks. Trump’s trade policies may be levering India further onto the US side of the US-China divide.
