Net capital inflows into EMs have climbed back into positive territory in recent weeks, driven by a sharp rise in foreign investors’ purchases of Turkish government debt. This strength could continue if investor confidence in the country’s policy shift is sustained. Elsewhere, surprise election results in India, Mexico and South Africa have led to a modest pull back in flows to those countries’ equity markets.
