The surge in energy prices this year (particularly gas) will have the biggest impact on Central and Eastern Europe and push economies there into recession. There will be an impact in the rest of the emerging world but we expect it to be much smaller due to the less severe energy price shock outside Europe as well as the more limited use of gas and electricity (particularly in Africa and parts of Asia).
