While the possibility of more US tariffs on UK exports will dominate next week, the bigger risk over the next six months or so comes from the unfinished fiscal business after the Chancellor’s fiscal update this week. Our UK Fiscal Headroom Monitor suggests that £3.5bn of the restored £9.9bn of headroom against the fiscal rule has already been eroded.
