With the major business surveys for March now published it is clear that economic activity is still growing slowly at best. The good news about the German fiscal stimulus has boosted sentiment but the stimulus itself is many months away. Meanwhile, there have been fresh headwinds for the euro-zone economy in the form of President Trump’s tariff on autos and further tariffs may be announced next week.
