The communications accompanying the decision by the Turkish central bank to leave its policy rate on hold today, at 50.00%, were slightly more dovish than last month, but there are no clear signs to us that an easing cycle is about to start. We maintain our forecast that the first rate cut will arrive in early 2025 – later than the consensus view for easing to begin before the end of this year.
