The communications accompanying the decision by the Turkish central bank to leave its policy rate unchanged again today, at 50.00%, suggest that analysts’ expectations for an easing cycle to start in just the next couple of months are likely to be disappointed. We maintain our view that rate cuts won’t arrive until the end of Q1 at the earliest.
