Turkey’s central bank delivered a 500bp interest rate hike at today’s meeting, to 30.00%, providing further encouragement about policymakers’ commitment to tackling the inflation problem. A lot more tightening still needs to be delivered, though, and we think rates will rise to at least 35.0% by year-end.
