In an interview with The Economist published earlier today, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (or MbS, as he is known locally) outlined encouragingly ambitious fiscal and reform plans, including an admission that the government is considering privatisation of the state-oil company Saudi Aramco. Having spent 2015 shrugging off accusations that it had no plan in place to adjust to low oil prices, the government certainly seems to have started 2016 on the front foot.
