Weak domestic demand to hold back growth in Korea

Today’s GDP data show that Korea recorded another quarter of solid growth in Q3, thanks mainly to strong domestic demand. Looking ahead, low interest rates and a pickup in exports should provide a boost to growth next year. However, high levels of household debt, which will hold back consumer spending, mean a strong and sustained rebound is unlikely.
