Regulators have called on banks to step up lending to developers. But with banks becoming more cautious about issuing mortgages in the face of mortgage boycotts and local governments tightening oversight of presale deposits, the liquidity squeeze facing developers is not going away.
Meanwhile, although officials will take some comfort in seeing the unemployment rate drop back within their target range, with think it probably overstates the health of the labour market.
