US Existing Home Sales (Jun. 2024)

The sharp rise in mortgage rates in April was the catalyst for existing home sales falling to a 13-year low in June. However, borrowing costs have since receded and timelier indicators of activity such as mortgage applications for home purchase have crept higher, suggesting that the weakness in sales will be reversed this month.
