The RBI kept the repo rate on hold at 6.50% today as expected and continued to strike a hawkish tone. With the economy holding up well and inflation likely to remain above the 4% target for a few more months yet, we doubt the central bank will loosen policy until the second half of the year, later than almost all other major EMs.
