Spanish politics, Swiss industrial production

This week saw Spain take a tentative step towards forming a new government, but there is a long way to go, and another general election may yet be needed. We also learnt this week that Swiss industrial and construction output slumped in Q2 and that higher prices in tourist-related activity were responsible for the uptick in euro-zone services inflation in July. Next week we expect the early business surveys for August to show that economic activity remained weak.
