Poland: risk of fiscal complacency creeping in

The Polish government’s white paper on Monday set out a scathing review of the previous government’s fiscal record and highlighted the challenges facing the public finances, but if we’ve learned anything from the report it is that the government will take its time to clear up the mess. Investors should expect fiscal tightening on a scale insufficient to prevent the public debt ratio rising over the coming years.
