Our China Activity Proxy (CAP) suggests that the economic recovery is continuing as the service sector makes up further lost ground. With policy support still flowing and consumers feeling less downbeat, further gains are likely in the near-term, but without substantial additional stimulus the recovery won’t have sufficient momentum to continue into the second half of 2024.
