Mozambique’s election, SA surveys, Ghana debt deal

Mozambicans head to the polls on Wednesday with the ruling Fremilo party widely expected to hold on to power. The elections come amid growing signals that key gas projects, which are vital to the medium-term outlook and hopes of avoiding a sovereign default, will soon get jump-started. Elsewhere, surveys from South Africa are now all telling a similar story of an economy gathering momentum. Finally, Ghana is now on the verge of exiting default but it will be some time before it can access international capital markets again.
