There have been plenty of signals over the past few weeks that more quantitative easing (QE) is on its way. Although the Committee could wait until August’s Inflation Report, there seems to be little point in doing so when the case for more stimulus is so strong. We still think that the consensus is under-estimating how much more action we are likely to see from the MPC over the coming months.
