Falling commodity prices weigh on markets

Latin America’s financial markets have suffered so far this year following fresh declines in the prices of a number of the region’s commodity exports – notably copper and oil. Most equities and currencies are down month to date, while the bond market now appears to be pricing in a default on foreign currency debt by the Venezuelan government.
