What would a China hard landing mean for EMs?

We don’t expect China to suffer a hard landing, but if it were to happen it would result in widespread currency weakness and slower growth in large parts of the emerging world. Emerging Asian economies would be hit via direct trade ties with China, although perhaps the most vulnerable EMs are those which would be indirectly affected via falls in commodity prices and a spike in investor risk aversion.
