Fears of an EM-wide crisis have receded and the outlook for smaller EM manufacturers is brightening. But structural problems will continue to hold back the largest emerging economies even if, as seems likely, China avoids a hard landing. As a result, growth across the emerging world could still disappoint over the next year. The key for investors though will be to differentiate both within and between regions.
