Commodities pause for breath

Most commodity prices were little changed this week despite strong activity data from China. Indeed, the only industrial metals to record gains were tin and lead whose prices were buoyed by ongoing supply concerns. Meanwhile, cuts to China’s output continued to sustain coal prices, while oil was broadly flat on the week in spite of falling US stocks.
