Prices of most industrial metals fell sharply this week, largely reflecting persistent investor concerns about the prospects for Chinese demand. The latest data showed LME money managers cutting their net-long positions and US investors increasing their net-short positions in copper. Other commodity markets had a quieter week, with the exception of coffee, where prices rose sharply on a strengthening of the Brazilian real and somewhat lower stocks.
