The decline in mortgage rates in May was not enough to stop home purchase mortgage applications from falling to a three-month low. The chances of a quick turnaround in June currently look slim, as the increase in the 10-year Treasury yield at the end of last month has put further upward pressure on mortgage rates, although the more recent decline in yields could lead to a better month for mortgage applications in July.
