Existing home sales were essentially flat in May which is somewhat puzzling given that pending home sales and home purchase mortgage applications, which lead transactions by a month, both fell meaningfully in April. Either way, this doesn’t change the fact sales are at historically low levels, with the market practically frozen, something we don’t expect to change any time soon.
