Egypt Consumer Prices (Sep. 2024)

The second consecutive rise in Egypt’s headline inflation rate, to 26.4% y/y in September, on the back of electricity and fuel price hikes further reduces the chances of a first interest rate cut before the end of the year. We maintain our long-held view that the Central Bank of Egypt will begin an easing cycle in Q1 2025.
