India, Trump tariffs and friendshoring prospects

Friendshoring into India has for the most part been limited to high-end manufactured goods, but broader supply chain reconfiguration into the country could take place if the Trump administration imposes a 60% tariff on China. Trump has also been critical of India’s tariff regime, but if he were to specifically target countries with the largest trade imbalances with the US, India would be some way down that list.
