Next year will be characterised by falling headline inflation, which should help to prevent interest rate expectations and bond yields from rising much further. But we also expect core inflation to remain above 2% for some time. As a result, we think that after raising its deposit rate to a peak of about 3% next year, the ECB will not start cutting it again until late in 2024.
