Nigeria’s headline inflation rate eased to 33.4% in July, the first time it had slowed in 18 months, as the passthrough from previous naira falls has finally started to faded. With inflation having now peaked, we think this also closes the book on the CBN’s interest rate hiking cycle and will allow cuts to start being considered soon.
