Small-cap equities may not lag behind for long

The unusual gap that has opened up between the economic performance of small firms and the performance of small-cap equity indices is more likely to be closed by a rise in equity prices. After all, small firms are less exposed to the easing in global demand, the stronger dollar and the weaker energy sector than large firms and are more exposed to the recent strengthening in domestic demand and the improvement in the access to bank credit.
