It has been two months since the UK voted to leave the EU and you could be forgiven for being puzzled by the recent data on the economy. After all, different sets of figures released have given markedly different signals on the health of the economy following the referendum. On the one hand, output appears to have fallen off a cliff and consumer and business sentiment has plummeted and yet on the other, the consumer recovery has shown little sign of abating.
