Consumer/Producer Prices & Public Finances (Apr.)

CPI Inflation rose back above the Bank of England’s 2% target in April for the first time since December. And while we suspect that inflation is likely to remain above 2% for the rest of the year, as strong wage growth prompts firms to raise prices, we don’t think that it will force the Bank of England to hike rates anytime soon.
