Growth in the MENA region’s major economies appears to have accelerated in recent months. Our GDP tracker points towards a pick-up in growth in the Saudi economy at the start of the year, and timely indicators suggest that the Egyptian and Moroccan economies have also strengthened. Of course, there are different drivers behind this. Saudi Arabia has benefitted from a rebound in the oil sector, Egypt from fiscal stimulus while Morocco has seen a surge in tourist arrivals.
