Budget proposals could stoke price pressures

Inflation is likely to have risen at the start of 2016 on account of a further small rise in food inflation. Looking ahead, the FY16/17 budget is likely to incorporate a significant rise in public sector wages, which would add to the RBI’s difficult task in meeting its medium-term inflation targets.
