India’s vaccine rollout appears to have shifted into a higher gear, with daily vaccinations more than doubling over the past couple of weeks. If this upturn is sustained, it would significantly reduce the risk of further virus outbreaks as states scale back containment measures and activity bounces back. But it’s too early to celebrate just yet. Some states have been accused of manipulating their vaccine administration data, and there are still concerns over the supply outlook.
