The economic data out of the emerging world for Q1 look reasonably strong, but worsening COVID-19 outbreaks and a shift towards policy tightening are creating headwinds for some EMs. Activity in Central Europe, Brazil and the Philippines is already slowing, while downside risks to the outlook are mounting in other parts of Latin America as well as India.
