Ukraine’s economy has seen rare good news over the past month as the IMF released additional funding after a long delay and recent data showed that growth strengthened. Nonetheless, there has been no resolution to the conflict in the east, and that is likely to prevent a strong recovery from taking hold. Ukraine’s real GDP is only likely to return to its pre-crisis level in the 2020s.
