Policy risks in Hungary to spell further forint weakness

Amid the public spat over who exactly is responsible for the recent sell-off in the Hungarian forint, the point that is being overlooked is that local factors, rather than global risk appetite, now appear to be driving the currency. With fears mounting that the government will announce the appointment of a loyalist as the new governor of the National Bank next month, further drops in the forint look likely.
