February’s PMIs show that manufacturing in Emerging Europe continued to strengthen. Poland and the Czech Republic are leading the way and, encouragingly, the PMI components suggest that domestic demand is now strengthening alongside external demand. Russia’s PMI also rose, although the survey was taken before the escalation of the crisis in Ukraine at the end of last month.
