Taiwan-China trade agreements are not a big deal

There is concern among some parts of Taiwan’s business community that a cooler stance toward China under the next government could hurt the economy. However, closer relations between China and Taiwan have not delivered the benefits that its proponents claim. Changes in the structure of China’s economy, rather than the state of cross-strait relations, will have the biggest impact on Taiwan’s economy in the years to come.
