The continued decline in the unemployment rate, along with the Fed’s hawkish shift this week will be putting a bit of pressure on the RBA. And given our view that labour shortages will result in stronger wage growth than the RBA anticipates, we still believe the Bank will hike rates in 2023, rather than 2024 as it currently expects.
