Most of the recent gloomy headlines on Australia’s housing market are simply because people are mistaking the normal soft patch after the Easter school holidays for something more worrying. When you adjust for such seasonal swings, house prices actually rose in May. Even so, the market its past is peak and house price inflation will slow to 5% this year and to zero next year.
