Brazil Sugar Production (1st Nov. – 16th Nov.)

Figures released today by Brazil’s Sugarcane Industry Association, UNICA, show that 25.6 million tonnes of cane were harvested in the first half of November in the main South-Central cane-growing region. This was 11% higher than in the same period last year and slightly above analysts’ expectations of 24.0 million tonnes in a Bloomberg survey. However, the cane crush was sharply down from 38.3 million tonnes in late October due to continued rain, which has disrupted the harvest.
